Fall Sunshine Meet Resumes with Nine-Race Program Friday

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool yielded multiple payoffs of $ Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

Morplay Racing’s 3-year-old filly Sovereign Gold ($4.80) graduated in the Race 10 finale, a maiden special weight for fillies and mares 3 and up on the all-weather Tapeta course, to complete the winning 1-7-4-8-1-8 combination. There were 905 winning tickets.

Other winners in the sequence were Authentic Wave ($8.40) in Race 5, Peacethrustrength ($11.80) in Race 6, Queen of Rock ($8.60) in Race 7, Junction Road ($15) in Race 8 and Swaggish ($4.60) in Race 9.

A total of $988,307 was bet into the Rainbow 6 Sunday on top of a $134,689.85 carryover from Saturday’s program, for a grand total of $1,122,997.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

The fall Sunshine Meet resumes with a nine-race program Friday starting at 12:20 p.m.
