Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Yields Multiple $283 Payoffs

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool yielded multiple payoffs of $283.78 on the sixth of eight consecutive Monday programs at Gulfstream Park.

Supreme Honor ($7) rallied to take the Race 9 finale, a 1 1/16-mile turf claimer for 3-year-olds and up, and complete the winning 6-9-5-8-4-2 combination.

Other winners in the sequence were Team of Rivals ($5) in Race 4, Fire On the Wire ($5.40) in Race 5, Kinetic Stone ($9.80) in Race 6, Great Venezuela ($4) in Race 7 and Brooklyn Guy ($6.40) in Race 8. There were 1182 winning tickets.

A total of $387,553 was bet into the Rainbow 6 Monday on top of a $25,553.06 carryover from Sunday’s program, for a grand total of $413,106.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

The Rainbow 6 has produced multiple mandatory payouts of $48,609.94 July 13, $5,084.66 July 20, $406.32 July 27, $195.42 Aug. 3 and $7,639.26 Aug. 10. Mandatory payouts continue every Monday at Gulfstream through the Aug. 31 conclusion of the Royal Palm Meet.

Live racing resumes Saturday at Gulfstream, when the Rainbow 6 begins anew covering Races 5-10. The feature comes in Race 7, the $100,000 Miss Gracie for 3-year-old fillies scheduled at a two-turn mile on the grass led by multiple stakes-placed Bayou Brigid and Laigina.

Monday’s 50-cent Late Pick 5 (Races 5-9) returned $294.05. There were payouts of $241 in the $1 Players Place Pick 8 (Races 2-9), $98.70 in the $3 Late Pick 3 (Races 7-9), $56 in the $5 Late Double (Races 8-9) and $996.90 in the $1 Summer Sweep Pick 5 featuring Races 6, 7 and 9 from Gulfstream and Races 7 and 8 from Parx.
