Racing Resumes Saturday with Well-Received Player-Friendly Bets

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Live racing resumes Saturday with a 10-race program at Gulfstream Park, where a newly implemented player-friendly wagering menu is being well received by bettors looking for low takeouts and high payouts.

A low 15-percent takeout on some multi-race wagers will provide bettors heightened value in their quests to make a score throughout the day.

The $3 Players Late Pick 3, whose pool has increased by 285 percent from 2025 figures, and the $5 Players Late Double, whose pool has grown by 96-percent from a year ago, will keep the action going right to the end of Saturday’s program.

Saturday’s Players Late Pick 3, a $3 minimum wager requiring bettors to select the winners of the last three races will span Races 8-10, kicked off by five-furlong optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up on turf in the first leg. Michael Lerman-trained Xy Speed, a 10-year-old warrior who has won 15 races on turf, 14 at Saturday’s is the 7-5 morning-line favorite. Rohan Crichton-trained Test Factor, rated at 2-1 on the morning line, sports an impressive set to workouts in preparation for a return from a three-month layoff.

Races 9 and 10, the last two legs of the $3 Players Late Pick 3, will be paired for the $5 Players Late Double, a $5 minimum bet linking the last two races.

Race 9, a six-furlong Florida-bred allowance for fillies and mares, has drawn an evenly matched field of eight. Armando De La Cerda-trained Golden Valley, the 2-1 morning-line favorite who raced evenly while finishing fifth on turf last time out, returns to the main track over which he finished second in open company in her previous start. Sweet Dream Lady comes off a solid third-place finish in her first start off the claim by trainer Laura Cazares.

A competitive field of nine has been assembled for Race 10, a mile $17,500 claiming event for 3-year-olds and up on turf. Megacles, the 2-1 morning-line favorite, makes his second start for trainer Ron Spatz following a runner-up finish at Saturday’s level. Lucky Larry, a New York refuge coming off a layoff of nearly four months, makes his first start for high-percentage trainer Victor Barboza Jr.

The $3 Tropical Turf Pick 3 will link Races 6, 8 and 10 on Saturday’s program. Race 6 is a five-furlong optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up on turf. Jose D’Angelo-trained Khozalite, who captured the Florida Sire Stakes Affirmed on dirt last year after breaking his maiden on turf, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in a field of eight who will be ridden by Leonel Reyes for the first time since the Affirmed. Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Gold Perl, who is two-for two on Tapeta, will make his debut on turf Saturday.

The $1 Players Place Pick 8, which requires the bettor to build a ticket with the winner or second-place finisher of each of the last eight races on the program, will get the action going early, spanning Races 3-10.

Saturday’s $1 Gulfstream Summer Sweep Pick 5, a retail-only Pick 5 wager will feature races at Gulfstream and Woodbine. It will be kicked off by Race 7 at Gulfstream, followed by Races 7 at Woodbine, Race 9 at Gulfstream and Races 8 and 9 at Woodbine.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 starts anew Saturday following Monday’s mandatory payout that yield multiple $5,084 payoffs. The popular multi-race wager will span Races 5-10.

There will be a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 jackpot pool Monday and every Monday throughout the Royal Palm Meet that runs through August 31.
