HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is estimated to reach $75,000 for Saturday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream Park.
First race post time is 12:20 p.m.
The popular multi-race wager spans Races 5-10 and includes a pair of co-headlining stakes – the $100,000 Carry Back for 3-year-olds in Race 8 and $100,000 Musical Romance Handicap for fillies and mares 3 and up in Race 9.
Winner of the one-mile Aventura last fall and fifth in the Florida Derby (G1) March 28 at Gulfstream, Wayne’s Law returns to the dirt for the seven-furlong Carry Back after finishing seventh in the May 2 English Channel on the Gulfstream turf. Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained stablemates Langvad and Ramajay both exit sprint victories over the course as does Demolition, a four-length winner of his lone start June 13.
Grade 2 winner Indy Bay is the horse to beat in the 6 ½-furlong Musical Romance, who dropped out of stakes company for the first time in more than a year to romp in an optional claimer at the course and distance May 24 for Joseph, who also entered Cooey, Luvumorgan and recent private purchase Kerry’s Kiss. Stakes-placed Just a Philly enters with a modest two-race win streak.
Also part of the sequence in Race 6 is a maiden special weight for fillies and mares 3 and up sprinting 6 ½ furlongs on the main track. The 1-2 program favorite is Exquisite, a Peachtree Stable sophomore homebred that placed in both of her starts during the 2025-2026 Championship Meet, the most recent March 5. Janana Han, a 4-year-old daughter of 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify, debuts from outermost Post 6.
The Race 10 finale is a Florida-bred allowance for 3-year-olds and up going 5 ½ furlongs on the all-weather Tapeta course that drew a wide-open field of 10 led by three-time winner Sabian, new gelding Augustinian and 5-year-old Sticky McShnickens, second or third in 13 of 19 career starts.
In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.
There were multiple mandatory jackpot payouts of $41,598 June 21. Another mandatory payout is scheduled for Sunday, when the jackpot pool is estimated to grow to $500,000 if not hit beforehand.
Following the races, Gulfstream’s Carousel Club is hosting a watch party for the 7:30 p.m. World Cup game between Group K leaders Columbia and Portugal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. There will be food and drink specials, giveaways and a chance to win two tickets to the round of 32 game to be held July 3 featuring Group J winner Argentina against the to-be-determined Group H runner-up.
Notes: Jockey Diego Herrera doubled Friday aboard Heir to the Roar ($12.20) in Race 6 and Wootun ($7) in Race 8 … Victor Barboza Jr. trains both Heir to the Roar and Race 4 winner Enchanting Tale ($10.60) … Grade 2-placed Lightning Tones, back-to-back winner of the Sunshine Classic, breezed four furlongs in 47.94 seconds Friday at Gulfstream ahead of the $70,000 Wildcat Red overnight handicap July 3.
