75K Juvenile Sprint, 70K Chasing Artie Top 11-Race Program

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Unsolved for a seventh consecutive racing day Friday, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is estimated to reach $175,000 for Saturday’s 11-race program at Gulfstream Park.

First race post time is 12:20 p.m.

The popular multi-race wager last returned multiple mandatory payouts of $7,316.38 Nov. 2. Saturday’s sequence spans Races 6-11, kicked off by the $75,000 Juvenile Sprint for 2-year-olds going 6 ½ furlongs on the main track.

Spendthrift Farm’s Local Knowledge, a $625,000 son of Yaupon, is the 3-5 program favorite in the Juvenile Sprint for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher exiting an impressive 1 ¼-length debut victory sprinting six furlongs Oct. 4 at Keeneland. Among his rivals are stakes-placed Camigol, third in the Saratoga Special (G3), and Strategic Reserve.

Race 10 is the $70,000 Chasing Artie overnight handicap for 3-year-olds and up going 5 ½ furlongs on the all-weather Tapeta course. The field of eight includes Bob Umphrey Sprint winner Asher’s Edge, with a 3-2-2 record in eight Tapeta starts; Knockanara, beaten a half-length in Aqueduct’s Turf Sprint Championship yet to race on synthetic; Successful Native overnight handicap winner And Uwish; and Sosua Summer, runner-up in four straight starts.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
