“He did very well,” Biancone said. “He’s in good form.”

Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. will unveil Dandona, a $1.08 million purchase, in Sunday’s Race 10, a mile maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies on turf.

Bought at this year’s OBS April sale, Dandona is by 2020 Curlin Florida Derby (G1) hero Tiz the Law out of multiple-stakes winner Tulsa Queen, a Pennsylvania-bred daughter of Cactus Ridge who finished her career at Gulfstream.

Dandona is owned by Mahmud Fuad Mouni’s Tagermeen Racing, a syndicate that has become very active at U.S. sales. Mouni, a Libyan bloodstock agent, bought Romeo, who captured the Bashford Manor (G3) at Churchill Downs and is entered in Monday’s Hopeful (G1) at Saratoga, for $1.7 million at the Fasig-Tipton July Horse of Racing Age sale. He has made three other $1 million-or-more purchases this year.

Dandona, who will be ridden by Reylu Gutierrez, has been installed as the 7-5 morning-line favorite in a field of nine fillies.
