HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Mandatory payouts of the 1/ST Sunset Six and Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 pools will be held Sunday on the final day of Santa Anita Park’s Autumn Meet.

The sequence for the Sunset Six will include Races 9, 10 and 11 at Gulfstream Park and Races 8, 9 and 10 at Santa Anita Park.

The sequence for the Coast-to-Coast Pick 5 will be kicked off by Race 10 at Gulfstream, followed by Race 5 at Santa Anita, Race 11 at Gulfstream and Races 6 and 8 at Santa Anita.

Both player-friendly multi-race wagers have a minimum $1 base and a 15 percent takeout.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Estimated at $150,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $150,000 Sunday at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager went unsolved for an eighth consecutive racing day Saturday.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11, featuring a five-furlong entry-level optional claiming allowance for juveniles on turf in Race 10. Nolan Ramsey-trained Boyhood Dream returns to Gulfstream following a pair of stakes starts at Kentucky Downs and Presque Isle Downs. The son of Uncle Chuck had won on debut going five-furlongs on Tapeta at Gulfstream, where he came back to finish second behind undefeated Sum of Success in the In Summation Stakes going six furlongs on the main track. Ramon Minguet-trained Ford Roadster looms as the horse to beat looking to a second-place finish in the Hollywood Beach at five-furlongs on turf that followed a debut victory at 4 1/2 furlongs on the main track.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

$1 Players’ Place Pick 8 with 3-Day Carryover Solved Saturday

After eluding bettors for three racing days in a row, the $1 Players’ Place Pick 8 was solved Saturday at Gulfstream Park for a $1,709.50 payoff.

Players’ Place Pick 8 wagering began with a three-day carryover of $37,029.32. An additional $31,552 was bet Saturday on the multi-race wager that requires bettors to select horses to finish either first or second in each of the day’s final eight races.

Introduced in July, the Players’ Place Pick 8 is player-friendly, retail-only wager offering a 15 percent takeout where bettors are tasked with selecting horses to finish either first or second in each of the day’s final eight races.

$60,000 Jet Propulsion Handicap Headlines Sunday Program

Sunday’s 11-race program at Gulfstream Park will feature the $60,000 Jet Propulsion, a one-mile overnight handicap for 3-year-olds and up on turf in Race 5.

Trainer Patrick Biancone won’t predict victory for I Know I Know, but he fully expects a top effort from the 4-year-old son of Jess’s Dream he bred and owns in partnership with Amy E. Dunne.

“He tries every time. He brings back a check every time he runs. He’s a lovely horse. He has a very, very good breeder,” Biancone quipped. “He never lets us down.”

I Know I Know, 9-2 on the morning-line, should be a factor, rain or shine, having shown the same steady-running form on turf and Tapeta.

Jimmy Toner-trained Siege of Boston, the 8-5 morning-line favorite in a field of eight, will seek his third straight victory while coming off a three-month layoff. In his most recent start, the 7-year-old gave Toner his 900th career win in the Empire Builder overnight handicap Aug. 2.

Mitzman Named Armed Forces Winner, Bourbon Dream Takes Showing Up

Mitzman and Sushi Party, each making their third career start and first in a stakes, engaged in a spirited duel through the stretch resulting in Mitzman being declared the winner by disqualification in Saturday’s $75,000 Armed Forces at Gulfstream Park.

The Armed Forces for 2-year-olds co-headlined an 11-race Halloween program with the $75,000 Showing Up for 3-year-olds, won in an 11-1 upset by Bourbon Dream.

After sitting behind the pace set by Ready to Rage and pressed by narrow 2-1 favorite Lord Henry, Sushi Party and Mitzman moved together outside horses midway around the far turn and hooked up at the head of the lane. Unable to get past the leader, Mitzman was promoted to first when Sushi Party was ruled to have drifted out late.

Originally carded for the turf, the winning time for a mile and 70 yards on the all-weather Tapeta course was 1:42.18.

Michael Dubb, Loda Luck Stables, Fugget About It Racing Stables and Twin Sports Racing’s Mitzman ($6.60) was ridden by Leonel Reyes for trainer Jose D’Angelo.

In the Showing Up, contested at 1 1/16 miles over the Tapeta, Cypress Creek Racing and Ad Noir’s Bourbon Dream ($24.80) and jockey Marcos Meneses wore down pacesetter Redland Rebels in deep stretch and pulled clear to capture his stakes debut and extend his win streak to two races. It was the second stakes win in two days for Meneses following Hammy in Saturday’s $75,000 Our Dear Peggy.

Notes: Jockey Leonel Reyes rode back-to-back winners Saturday, Cipresa ($9.20) in Race 6 and Mitzman ($6.60) in Race 7, the $75,000 Armed Forces for 2-year-olds on Tapeta … Seven-pound apprentice Jonathan Santos doubled with Emerging Leader ($9.80) in Race 2 and Blue Slide Park ($9.80) in Race 4, and Marcos Meneses won twice with Flowko ($15) in Race 5 and Bourbon Dream ($24.80) in Race 11, the $75,000 Showing Up for 3-year-olds on Tapeta.
