Two Graded Stakes in Saturday’s Gulfstream Summer Sweep Pick 5

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Two graded stakes from Woodbine – the Ontario Colleen (G3) and Hendrie (G3) – highlight Gulfstream Park’s Summer Sweep Pick 5 Saturday.

First race post at Gulfstream is 12:20 ET. The Summer Sweep Pick 5 begins with Gulfstream’s seven race at approximately 3:44 ET.

The Summer Sweep Pick 5 is one of four new player-friendly wagers recently introduced at Gulfstream. They include the $3 Players Late Pick 3, $5 Players Late Double, and $1 Place Pick 8.

Saturday’s Summer Sweep Pick 5 __ Gulfstream Race 7:__ A wide-open field of seven fillies and mares in for a $20,000 claiming price go 5 ½ furlongs on the Tapeta. Trainer Victor Barboza Jr., second in the trainer standings, saddles Vuela Poloma, who’s placed in six of seven starts on the Tapeta with three wins. The filly draws the rail with leading apprentice Pedro Pena in the saddle. Boot’s On the Moon drops from state-bred allowance company for trainer Ron Spatz. Lucy’s Cookie has won four on the Tapeta for trainer Fernando Abreu and Sophistry goes out first time after being claimed by Kathleen O’Connell for $10,000.

Woodbine Race 7: A field of nine going 1 1/16 miles are entered in this allowance optional claimer for 3-year-olds and up and it’s another wide-open affair with a tepid 3-1 favorite in Nauvoo, who has won nine of 41 starts and comes into the race off a 4 ¾ length victory against claimers. Shadow Realm stretches out after sprinting twice since being claimed by trainer Katerina Vassilieva for $25,000 in November. King d’Oro, who wintered at Gulfstream for trainer Kevin Attard, has finished fourth twice since heading north for trainer Donald MacRae.

Gulfstream Race 9: Eight Florida-breds go six furlongs on the main track in this $65,000 allowance event for fillies and mares. Dakota’s Lil Auror was third in a $50,000 starter optional claimer last out and fourth May 23 in the Game Face. Samaritan’s Joy goes out first time for the Mark Passley barn after a closing second in a $50,000 starter optional last out. Golden Valley has two wins at the distance in three starts, gets a rider switch to Edwin Gonzalez, and gets back to the main track after a turf spin.

Woodbine Race 8: The Ontario Colleen (G3), at a mile on the turf, drew nine 3-year-old fillies including the 5-2 favorite Bandiagara. After racing four times as a juvenile in France, the daughter of Zelzal made her 2026 debut a winning one for trainer Miguel Clement with a victory in the Penn Oaks May 29. Smexy, beaten a length in the Penn Oaks, returns after getting walked off July 3 at Saratoga in the Wild Applause. Trainer Mark Casse saddles Happy Destination, second in the Alywow in just her second start, and Graham Motion saddles Brat Pack, a winner last time out at Delaware and third at Laurel in the Hilltop in May.

Woodbine Race 9: Nine fillies and mares are entered for the Hendrie (G3) at 6 ½ furlongs and Gulfstream’s leading trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. has the morning-line favorite in Reagan’s Flame. The 5-year-old mare enters has seven wins in 21 starts including Woodbine’s Whimsical (G3) in May. She enters the Hendrie off a fifth-place finish in the Royal North (G3) after a troubled trip. Woodbine’s leading trainer Mark Casse saddles three – Creed’s Gold, Time to Dazzle and Without Cause. Creed’s Gold is the defending champ and has raced at four different tracks. She was sixth in the Intercontinental (G2) at Saratoga in June, third in the Unbridled (G2) at Churchill Downs in May, and second in the Giant’s Causeway (G2) at Keeneland in April. Time to Dazzle was seventh in the Intercontinental and fifth in the Unbridled, while Without Cause was fourth in the Royal North.
