HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Jockey Joel Rosario, who had not ridden a winner during the first 14 days of the Championship Meet, ended Saturday winning the last two races of the afternoon, including the $75,000 Tropical Park Oaks.
After winning the 10th race aboard the Ralph Nicks-trained Abounding Legacy, Rosario won the Oaks on Long Lake Stable and Beacon Hill's Tammy the Torpedo, trained by Chad Brown.
Julien Leparoux also won two races Saturday. Leparoux won the sixth aboard Southside Warrior ($7.20) and the Tropical Park Derby on Solemn Tribute ($12).
Rainbow 6 Begins Again
A day after a bettor hit the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot for $129,904.18, there was no single winner in Saturday's Rainbow 6. Multiple tickets with the correct winners returned $3,590.50. Sunday's carryover is $13,849.14.
