Rainbow 6 Carryover Grows to 766K for Sunday

May 4, 2019
Vow to Recover, Vow Me Now Capture $75,000 Turf Stakes

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 20th consecutive racing day Saturday, producing a carryover jackpot of $766.491.50 for Sunday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream Park.

First race post time is 1:15 p.m.

A total of $171,811 was wagered into the Rainbow 6 Saturday, when betting started with a $725,263.87 carryover from Friday’s card. Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $7,550.84.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 5-10 and includes a $47,000 optional claiming allowance for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3 and up going a mile on the grass in Race 7, as well as a $48,000 optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up set for a mile on the main track in Race 9.

Saturday’s card included a pair of 1 1/16-mile turf stakes for 3-year-olds, the $75,000 Honey Ryder for fillies won by Imaginary Stables and Paul Braverman’s Vow to Recover ($16.40) and the $75,000 English Channel won by David Melin, Leon Ellman and Laurie Plesa’s Vow Me Now ($15). Both winners were ridden by Jairo Rendon, who swept the final three races of the day including Calinas Song ($17.60) in Race 11.

Jesus Rios also rode three winners – America’s Simmard ($6.20) in Race 2, Buenamoza ($8.40) in Race 3 and Rock You ($8.40) in Race 5.
